Rich Richie

Word are too limiting when trying to tribute a person that meant so much to so many.  Rich has been with the Lacey Golf Assoc. for a very long time.  He didn’t hesitate when needed to step up to do the accounting for the group.  Rich was a trustworthy, honest man who was a perfect fit for the position.  If you have ever brought your car to his garage (Lacey Auto care) you would know the thoroughness and honesty that Rich possessed.  He was a hard working man with a passion for family, boating and golf.  He spent his last weekend embracing all of those things. 3EABF91D-EBF5-4E00-82F1-13D1C820F724

Those of us fortunate enough to share a round of golf with Rich will miss the passion and competitive nature he possessed.  Those who went to his place of business will certainly miss his ability to explain the issues with your vehicle and the completeness of the work done.  Rich had just got a boat and spent the later part of Sunday on the boat after golfing in the morning.  It was a beautiful day and Im sure Rich would not have wanted it any other way.

Please keep Rich and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Some of you heard the cheers when a golf ball found the bottom of the cup on Hole# 7. May 2, 2019 Net score – Flighted by Age

After reviewing the Leaderboard it is apparent the golf course won last week. If you had trouble finding the short grass and was not on the green in regulation pars were hard to find.

Our target score from the white tees is 67 and 65 from our gold tees.None of our gold tee players hit the target score and only nine players hit the target score from the white tees. This is hard to do and should be your goal each week.

On top of the gross leaderboard is:

Bob Reilly 77

Haddie Lee 78

Gary Lerro 83

Ed Kelleher 83

Troy Nikola 84

Andy Ducsak 84

Congratulations!  Only 15 players had rounds under 90 and only 52 of 102 players scores were under 100.

April 25 2019 2 Best of 4

Thursday proved to be a very nice golf day. Most of you removed one layer about the time the round started and before the end of the round I saw a lot of short sleeve shirts. Players enjoyed the lunch after the round. The lunch had a taste of Italy. Thanks to the kitchen staff at GRGC and Amanda our server.

A few words about target score. Your target score is 67 from the white tees and 65 from the Gold tees. Subtract your course handicap from your gross score and see if you hit your target score. Very hard to do.We had 18 players reaching this goal last week.

Four rounds in the 70’s:

Bob Reilly 73

Ray D. 77

Haddie Lee 78

Don Lee 78

23 of our players had scores under 90 and 63 of 104 players had scores under 100.

On the net side the top 5 were

Rich Kulaszewski 60

Jim Schembari 61

Rich Ritchie 63

Jim Kelly 63

Ernie Leta 63

39 of our players had net scores of 71 and less.

The results of our 2 best of 4 are in and to be a winner you needed to be in red numbers. The best team score was a -21. This was a 80% of your handicap event. The scorecard had your full course hanicap. Go to our portal and click on your group you will see the 80% handicap.

If you will not be playing on a given Thursday this is the procedure:

Tell Jay on a Thursday morning at our office on the 10th tee. He has the list .

This week will be our first luncheon. Our lunch will have a taste of Italy. We will also have a tournament. It will be a team event and your pairing will be your team. The lowest two net scores on each hole. 80% handicap event.

Our weekly fee is $40.00. We prefer checks but will accept your cash. No credit cards. You can do Richie a big favor and try to have the correct cash. Two twenties would be great.

This is our attendance rule. We assume you will play each week. If you can not play you contact Jay as early as possible and let him know you will not be playing. A few of our members were no shows last week. No shows create problems and we do not like to have no shows.
