This week our event will be a team event. The total of your two best net scores. Winners will be paid at our winter meeting on 11-29-2018.

Our final week of our 2018 season is Thursday. The round will be followed by a Prime Rib dinner and we will honor our 2018 winners. Please plan to stay and do not eat and run. The awards will be presented after the meal.

Our winter meeting will be Thursday,November 29. Mark your calendar.

We have two weeks remaining on our 2018 schedule. 9-27 & 10-4. Also mark November 29 2018 on your calendar. This will be our meeting to organize for our 2019 season. More information will follow.

CONGRATULATIONS to Tom Scully. Tom was our first winner on the 13th  closest to the hole on the second shot.Tom was 26″ from the hole and made the birdie.

No birdies on the 16th hole this week but Barry Cerino third shot found the bottom of the cup from 100+ yards. Barry was still smiling when I saw him in the parking lot.

The loudest celebration was on the 17th hole when Jim Starkey long putt found the bottom of the cup for a par.

In our Blind Partners event 48 of the 50 teams were under par.

Joe the ranger is still improving and I hope he will join us on 10-4.

WOW! What a beautiful Saturday morning along the Jersey Shore. The long range forecast for this Thursday looks this good. Make your plans to play.My thoughts are with the people on the Carolina coast .

Joe Radice with a 10 under par 61.Tony Giordano was in second place with a 9 under par 62.

My plans for this Thursday is an old favorite Blind Partners. Plus Gross and Net Skins.

A new way to win cash on the 13th hole this week is closest to the hole on your SECOND shot. Who will be our first winner?

Our season will end on October 4th. We will have a team event and our annual banquet and awards lunch. How does prime rib sound?

Weekly Recap on the golf

98 members of the LGA played golf on an  extremely hot day at GRGC.My thanks to you for your support of the LGA.To my knowledge only three players dnf the round due to the heat.  Hope you are okay.

The heat,doctor visit,back problems and a variety of other reasons are impacting our attendance.We have four weeks left on our 2018 calendar. I am hoping our attendance will improve

This Thursday is hamburgers,hot dogs and french fries with Jay. This will be held in the banquet room immediately after the round. Please plan to stay and talk with Jay.

Thursday,October 4th is our final round of the season and our annual awards banquet. We will honor our match play winners and runner ups. Prime Rib will be on our menu.

Four rounds in the 70’s this week.Troy Nikola 75,Ray Dibenedetti 78 “Guest”, Ed Kelleher 78 and Ted Foley79.

John Kubilewicz and Rusty Arnold  share low net of the week. A season low 58. WOW

Heat did not bother scoring some good golf was played.21 of our players shot in the 80’s and 33 players had scores in the 90’s and 60 players broke the 100 mark.

On the net side. How are you doing with your target score? This is your gross score minus your course handicap. Your course handicap is shown on your scorecard. From the white tees the target is 67 and 65 from the gold tees.We had 18 players with net scores of 67 or less. This is not easy.

Our event this week will be a team event . Your team will be your ” normal” pairing. We will use stableford scoring. All members of the team will contribute to the scoring.No skins.

Low net of the week in a tie breaker belongs to Pete Roache with a 7 under 64.44 of our players had net score of 71 or less. We are improving as we reach the end of our season.
